August 7th, 2006 - Manitoba to Ontario.
We are driving and driving once again.

Zack Osiris, the band van from Carl's station wagon.
It is the end of the August long weekend, so we were unable to play in Winnipeg this year. It's pretty disappointing to say the least. We spent the night near Portage, Manitoba.

Entering Manitoba.
Upon camping, we set up tents, play cards, eat food, explore and go to bed early. It's a nice break from the somewhat chaotic world of late night rock'n'roll.
Upon driving, our two vehicles meet up, quite coincedentally, at the next Tim Horton's coffee shop. We watch documentaries on our laptop, listen to CBC radio when available, and enjoy the scenery.

Entering Ontario.
I've said this three years in a row, but it's uber amazing how the Great Plains end and the Canadian Shield begins right at that Ontario border. At the 100th meridian.

I wanted to jump on this slow moving train pretty bad. "See you in T-Bay suckas!"
Whether this luck is good or bad, we have been detoured way off the trans-Canada highway just past Kenora. Some huge accident. It will cost us about 2.5 hour's of driving time. We headed south on 71 to meet the 11 at the US border. Our first time down any new road is envigorating. We can finally lay claim that we have been to Lake-of-the-Woods.

The almost full moon over Rainy Lake in Fort Frances, Ontario.
Tonight we are staying in Fort Frances between a busy railroad and Rainy Lake.

Getting ready for late night din-din.
