August 2nd, 2006 - Saskatoon, SK

I’m sitting at the Broadway Roastery, a bohemian gathering spot for the young and old mammals of Saskatoon. The air is fresh with news and talk of the Fringe Festival which starts today.

Posters from the Fringe Festival.

I don’t know if the crowd believed me, what with this Toronto accent, but I have a serious love for this Prairie town. Saskatoon has a speed and a smile I can contend with.

Last night, as with the night before, we started in front of a crowd who expected some good rootsy blues music. Buds on Broadway is famous for it. We cleared out the hardcore blues fans, leaving behind an open minded mix of drunks and intellectuals.

We’ve acquired some friends in the Sask town. Mike made his annual rap guest appearance. Miles, our Saskatchewan promoter, gave us madd love as we did in return. Jeremy kept the dancefloor bopping. I don’t want to forget everyone who completed their CD collection with our newest, which is as of yet, not released in Ontario.

Man, it was a good show!

Nothing too eventful. Great crowd. Good vibes. Nobody knocked themselves out falling off stage. Another awesome gig.
