Sunday, July 30th – Edmonton, AB
We had a friendly day in Edmonton, tying up those loose ends that need tying. Myself, I fixed a broken guitar. We had a lovely dinner with Adam of the Uncas and family.
The Sunday night gig at Sidetrack was a ‘meatmarket’. Good-looking men and women dress to impress to meet other good-looking men and women. DJ Dudeman plays top-40 and the clientelle drinks hard.

Running back to Saskatoon.
It was a pretty average gig for us artsy-fartsy singer song-writers, if it weren't for one major event.
The highlight, or perhaps the lowpoint of the evening happened during our last set. We were playing the AC/DC Megamix and once again, a woman jumped up onto stage to sing along. She was quite out of control, to say the least. We were about to play our tribute to Run DMC, when she bumrushed the stage again.

Albert-Saskatchewan border.
Allow me to continue this story in slowmotion, as I’ve recalled it hundreds of times since the event.
Girl runs across the dance floor, leaping up to the stage, heading straight towards me or perhaps Carl, who is behind me. Friend of girl is right behind her. Friend of girl grabs the back of girl’s belt. Friend of girl tugs girl down off the stage. Girl trips over monitor speaker and lands on face. Girl remains knocked out face first on the dance floor for 10 minutes.
The whole night stopped for those 10 minutes. An ambulance came. She was out cold. It was pretty crazy to say the least. We were dumbfounded.
BTW, she's fine now, so we were led to believe.

The great flatness.
We are now driving across the Great Prairies, headed for 6 nights in Saskatchewan.
