June 27th, 2006 - Kamloops, BC.

Ah yes. Our favorite yearly visit to Kamloops BC. After the beauty of the Duffy Lake Pass, we journeyed down the hill into downtown Kamloops to meet with Larry Read. He's the anchorman for the local and provincial Midday news. For our third year in a row, we were the live-to-air musical entertainment.

Three years ago, Carl handled the nerve racking on air questioning. Last year, Mim answered most of the questioning. This year, I got to take the mic. Larry Read is so fun to talk to. He really has a grasp of the Canary Mine buzz. He's like a best friend we talk to 15 minutes a year.

We spent the afternoon swimming in the Thompson River, mentally preparing for the early morning gig. Our gig is called Music In The Park. We play for a large audience of family's and seniors on lawnchairs. We tend to tone down our late night 'rawk' show and opt for our more pleasant storytelling songs. Personally, it's my favorite gig of tour.

Cindy, Jojo, Mim, Carlito, Sue, Amanda, Diane, James and Luna.

We spent the night for the third year in a row, with Amanda Stevens. We had a great visit with Sue, Diane and Amanda. They live in a nice home on the side of a mountain, overlooking the Thompson River, Mount Paul, and Strawberry Hill. I made a solo visit to the Grind, a local and famous coffee house. The local kids we're playing folky music. Amanda and I took a late night dip in the Thompson at Hong Kong Beach.

Another wonderful visit to Kamloops makes all the hard dues of rock'n'roll tour worth it. I can't wait till next year.
