Saturday, July 7th, 2006 -elson, BC.

Let us reminisce for a moment about Banff. I don't think we'll ever get better than Banff. It's a tourist town jonsing to hear music by tourist musicians.

Mim and Joe enjoy a BC Ferry.

Another beautiful view from the Ferry.

The drive from Golden to Nelson is mountainous, dangerous, and extremely scenic. We stopped at a mountain lookout to view a beautiful valley. We jumped into a slightly cold river to cool down.

Osiris, the band van, has been operating quite well since I added a 'transmission fluid radiator' to his engine.

Arrival in Nelson

Nelson is quite an awesome town. We entered the hotel and Mim was immediately told where she could smoke her weed. BTW, Mim doesn't smoke weed. You can smell the marijuanna fumes throughout the mountains and out in the streets. It's pretty much legal in these rural BC mountains. (note: In 2006, Marijuanna is still illegal according to Canadian federal law.)

The bar's air conditioning was broken. It was really really hot. Ryan "Bruiser" Barron brought a good chunk of ladies. The bar was not empty, though it was a little too hot to fill up. It was an attentive and cooperative crowd. We played well considering it was in the 40's or 50's Celcius onstage.

Live at the Royal

Sunday morning sees the band split. Carl and Cindy are heading straight for Vancouver. Mim and Joe are heading to see Joe's best friend Owen, in Kelowna. I'm staying in Nelson, going sailing with my best old buddy, Bruiser Barron and some old snowboarder friends from years long past.

We meet again on Tuesday night in Vancouver.
