June 17, 2006 - Kananaskis Valley.

Sunday night in Kananaskis was a wild time.

Jojo contemplates the resorts below from atop Little Mount Kidd.

The resort we played at offered us two 5-star bedrooms within the Executive Resort. Kananaskis has two resort's in the middle of large mostly untouched natural valley. It has housed the 1988 Winter Olympics and a 2003 G8 summit.

Monday is the least busy day of the week in Kananaskis. So the Tourism workers like to get a little crazy on Sunday night. Woody's Pub is the only bar for miles and miles. It filled up quickly.

It wasn't the most attentive crowd. They were too busy getting their party on, but we got the CM message across.

Myrna bumrushed the stage and sang our AC/DC Megamix.

We were a little slow during the first set. It was hard to get used to the high elevation. The air gets thin and therefore the first set wasn't our best. The third set was awesome!

Barstaff - Karen, Mike, Jude, Mark, Marc and Anjulee.

Early morning bonfire with the diehard resort staff of Kananaskis.

The next day, Mim went site seeing with a local gentleman. Carl and Cindy headed into Calgary. Joe and I climbed Little Mount Kidd. The climb was quite challenging with the thin atmosphere. The clear day offered a distant view.

On Little Mount Kidd, the air was thin. The ground was steep.

We're parked out, just like last year, in a campground in Cochrane, AB. It has wireless internet and electricity. It is only a 40 minute drive to downtown Calgary. We've got an easy next few days to count our money, write this roadlog, and learn some new tunes.
