Saturday night in Banff. What can I say?

Saturday night in Banff. Dude in blue upfront, he danced all night. Newfie Rich is behind him.
The Newfie’s were waiting at the bar when we arrived. They stayed in rare form.
There are certain daily tasks we have to take care of. I write this tourlog. Mim count’s the money. Jojo makes meals. The first part of any gig night, we like to argue over who writes the setlist. Nobody ever actually wants to make a setlist. It’s a tedious and thankless task. Jojo hooked us up.
I won’t go into full detail about the many events of the evening. All I can really say is that we sold more CD’s and t-shirts than the preceeding two nights combined.

Dazed by The McCray Sisters from Brampton, ON.
Getting home to our chalet was hard. The fans did not want the night to end. Carl and I hid out in the back of the bar. There was a party at the end of our driveway until the early morning hours. We knew we had to save our energies for a Sunday night in the Kananaskis Valley.
The churchbells of Banff where beautiful to listen to this morning. I sat near the rail yards, watching a slow passing cargo train, listening to Ode To Joy echo through the mountians.
We said farewell to Richard, our chalet supervisor and headed on the long journey to the next gig. The Kananaskis Valley is a good 45-minute drive from Banff.
Between napping and eating, we wandered and wondered around this most magnificent valley. Jojo took a 4 hour hike around a mountain. Mim and I hiked a narrow valley path down to an ice cold glacier river. I tried to go swimming, but I just couldn’t get my torso under the freezing rapids.

Mount Kidd and Little Mount Kidd to it's right.
Sometimes, one likes to think to oneself that they have seen all the greatest, most beautiful places in the world. Then one stumbles upon the Kananaskis Valley and the bar gets raised.
According to the barstaff, Sunday is Kananaskis’ Saturday. We are setting up stage, letting Jojo catch up on some much needed sleep.
