July 13th, 2006 - Banff p1
We finally made it to Banff.
The US-Canada border, like last year, was another adventure. Customs officers on the US side thoroughly searched our van. The dogs were brought out. We waited patiently in the hot sun. Then, we had to go through Canadian Customs. They asked a lot of questions and let us go. This is my first experience with a double customs system.

The rolling hills leading to the Rockies.
I must admit that I’ve napped most of my day away, so I missed a lot of the Rocky Mountain scenery. I heard ‘oooh’s’ and ‘aaah’s’ from Joe and Mim. The van’s transmission didn’t act up once. Carl’s vehicle is working immaculately.
In Banff we get our own chalet with beautiful views in all directions. It has TV’s, separate rooms, parking, three washrooms, a kitchen, two porches. Jeez, what else can we ask for? It’s heavenly. We’re playing here three nights in a row for a good penny. There’s no lack of daytime activities in Banff.

Just one of a million cool views in and around Banff.
